Walt Disney.Hollywood’s renowned production studio goes social.

Walt Disney achieved great success in the social media realm with the launch of its Facebook fan page app, building an enormous fan base of over 7,000,000 engaged fans.

Objective

The objective was to create user badges for Disney fans during the celebration at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Strategy & Execution

The fan page app consisted of profile badges of Disney’s favorite characters, made available to their fans as digital souvenirs; these can be accessed through the ‘celebrate’ tab where users have the option of customizing their profile badges. The fan page tab also included features such as wall updates, photos, videos, etc. Here fans are able to view pictures and videos as well as share them with their friends. Users are also able to post their comments and share their experiences and stories with other fans.

Walt Disney has a global audience, and in the true spirit of the brand and people from all across the world made use of this application. The fan page was swamped with over 7,338,375 fans within a short period of time..
