The Melting Pot.New York’s favorite fondue restaurant goes social.

With a historical presence of more than 3 decades, the Melting Pot restaurant has capitalized on a true market niche within the American dining scene.


The management of the Melting Pot restaurant wished to amplify the reach of their brand by taking it viral and increasing brand relevance with the help of social media networks.

Strategy & Execution

Blitz Design developed a Facebook application to foster a stronger connection with customers and fans of the restaurant. An event was created along the theme of ‘Perfect Pairing’. Details of the event were provided on the Fan Page as well as a countdown to the day of the event. The purpose of the event was to unite like-minded fans of the restaurant, based on their compatibility levels and personal preferences. Once fans installed the application, a list of their Facebook friends was displayed to them and they were asked to select two friends they thought would make a perfect pair with one another. Each friend was then sent a questionnaire that would assist in gaging their compatibility levels with one another. Upon filling the questionnaire, all three people - the couple paired together, as well as the person suggesting the pair - would receive a coupon for a free chocolate fondue at the Melting Pot.

The Facebook audience was extremely receptive to this idea and as a result, the Melting Pot’s fan following reached up to 146,265 fans in virtually no time.
